About this plant
Give a garden boundary a softer look with Podocarpus gracilior, commonly called fern pine. Fine, narrow foliage makes this evergreen a useful choice for a clipped hedge or a more natural screen.
Make room for long-term growth
Fern pine can become a large tree if left unpruned. A maintained hedge needs space for roots, irrigation and regular shaping; it should not be treated as a root-free solution beside buildings or paving. Review setbacks and underground utilities before planting.
Plant in well-drained soil and provide establishment watering. Choose spacing based on the supplied plant width, the hedge height you want and room for maintenance. Smaller containers take time to fill in; larger plants provide more initial presence without guaranteeing immediate privacy.

Local delivery in Southern California
Delivery typically takes 2–10 business days after payment, depending on plant availability and route scheduling. We will contact you after purchase to coordinate delivery. Any delivery date specifically agreed for your order will take priority over this general estimate.
Delivery access
Please provide a reachable phone number and clear delivery instructions. Plants can be placed at an agreed accessible curbside, driveway or front-yard location. Backyard delivery is not included. Delivery and installation are separate services; installation requires a separate arrangement and quote.
If your order is delayed
Plant availability, weather and delivery scheduling can affect timing. If we cannot meet the stated delivery timeframe, we will contact you with an updated estimate and explain your option to accept the delay or cancel the unfulfilled order for a refund. We will obtain any consent required for an extended delay. A general website notice does not change a delivery date already promised for your order.
If access prevents delivery, we will contact you about rescheduling. Contact us before ordering if you need plants by a specific date.
